The Enquantuvar font is a very modern approach to a Tengwar font.
Inspired by the typical sans-serif fonts risen to high popularity around 2015, like Roboto, Helvetica and Segoe UI, this Tengwar font is a sans-serif, lightweight, non-calligraphic font for the Tengwar writing system. It also took some inspiration from fonts like Century Gothic, with clear circles as the main proportion.
Its uses can be endless in modern days. Complete web-pages, articles, posters, apps, operating systems, etc. can be designed in Tengwar and represented by a modern font that gives it a feeling of not being an old language by not having proper sans-serif variants.
"Enquantuvar" is a Quenya portmanteau, made up of the Quanya verb "enquanta", which means "to refill", in its
future tense, which then also means "next" (or "will refill", of course).
This was chosen because this font is "The Next Tengwar", and it will re-fill the Tengwar writing with new life
in the modern days, where very little written text is in serif or calligraphic fonts.
Here is an example of Tengwar Enquantuvar, the inscription of the One Ring:
Makes it have a completely different vibe, doesn't it?
The font comes in two variations, a 'regular' font width and a 'light' font width.
The provided examples are shown in the light version.
This font uses the encoding scheme that maps Tengwar characters over typical keyboard characters, to provide
a learnable keyboard layout in the phonetic sense of Tengwar.
Other fonts with this encoding include
Johan Winge's Tengwar Annatar,
Måns Björkman's Tengwar Parmaitë
and more.
If you have never written before with these fonts, you should visit a

Make sure you're using an English keyboard layout setting on your computer.

This font is not complete, it contains not every character the usual Tengwar fonts cover, just the most
basic ones.
I do not have plans on when this font will be updated with any new characters.
If anyone is interested in extending this font's character portfolio, adding more font weights and improving
some parts, e.g. the curves in the font, most importantly the Tehtar, feel free to contact me at
